Is "according to me" correct?

Remember that “according to” cannot be used to talk about one's own opinion/view because it has a third person referent.

انگش ایک ایسی زبان ہے جو کبھی بھی حیران کرنے میں فیل نہیں ہوتی- آپ نے اردو میں یہ فقرہ ”میرے مطابق“ تو بہت سنا ہو گا- بلکہ اسی نام سے ایک ٹاک شو بھی لگتا ہے-
یاد رکھیں کہ انگلش زبان میں یہ فقرہ غلط تصور کیا جاتا ہے جسکا انگلش ترجمہ ”according to me“ بنتا ہے- اسکی وجہ گرائمر ایکسپرٹس یہ بتاتے ہیں کے اس فقرے کا مخاطب تھرڈ پرسن ہے اسلیے آپ اسے اپنی رائے دینے کیلیے استعمال نہیں کر سکتے-

We use it to talk about the evidence from someone or somewhere else or to report someone else's idea or thought, not our own.

ہم اسے کسی دوسرے کی رائے کو بیان کرنے کے لیے استعمال کرتے ہیں- یا یوں کہیں کہ کسے بیرونی ذریعے کی طرف سے جو بات ہوتی ہے اسکے لیے استعمال کرتے ہیں-

We can say “according to him/her/you/them,” but we cannot say “according to me/us.” 

یعنی ”according to them/him/Ahmad“ تو بول سکتے ہیں، پر ” according to me/us“ نہیں بول سکتے-

For example:

• According to me, Maria should avoid traveling because she's pregnant.✖️
• In my opinion, Maria should avoid traveling because she's pregnant.✔️

Note also that we don't use the word “opinion” after “according to.”

ایک اور بات ذہن میں رکھیں کہ ہم ”according to me/us“ کے بعد ”opinion“ لفظ بھی استعمال نہیں کرتے:

• According to Imran Khan, Nawaz Sharif is a criminal.✔️
• According to Imran Khan's opinion, Mr. Sharif is a criminal.✖️
